I also make another backup and store in on my external hard drive every month. What I do is this.make backups to my hard drive and to a cloud based storage drive EVERY day and keep a backup for every day of the week. My Quicken data goes back to 1990, is very large and is not "too big", whatever that means. So the question: Is there anything I can do with my usage of Quicken that'll make it less likely to repeatedly fail? Maybe partitioning the data into separate files for "current" vs "historical"? Maybe. I haven't found a good solution that can successfully import my historical data. My data is in Quicken and so I'm addicted.

So I'm then told to "report it by going to help< report a problem the escalation team will investigate on this" What, we've been working on this for two hours and *I* now need to spend my time filing a report? Well, at least the escalation team will be able to help me, right?

Still, I had a few free moments yesterday so I thought I'd try. I've resisted contacting support because i have found that to be a waste of time. There is nothing I can find that is causing these alerts. Let's take one specific example: Over the past couple of months I've started getting alerts for accounts for have ".scheduled bills or deposits due soon." These alerts are incorrect-one of these accounts hasn't been used in a decade and another is the Unspecified Bill Presentment Account (a personal favorite of mine). and that is just what I can remember at the moment. Let's see, lately it has been 401K entries not being correctly added (that one did get fixed in a recent update), error dialogs that tell me the helpful information "000000", scheduled transactions that validation tells me were corrected - but couldn't have been, because that same message shows up on every subsequent validation, phantom alert messages that keep reappearing. Finances are important to me-I want the data to be correct, and the tool that manages that data to do so without corrupting it.Įvery few months I find myself having to spend hours working around some problem and often digging through transactions to try to find/fix problems. I have been using it and have complete financial data in there since 1993.
Quicken for Windows is the probably the single piece of software I spend the most time with.
